An invitation from REA to play pétanque (or French Boules) for free, in the Borough of Richmond-upon-ThamesYou’ve almost certainly seen the French playing the game of Pétanque during your many holidays across France? But were never invited to take part? Well now, you have the opportunity to learn how to play the game and enjoy yourself playing among friends, in the Borough of Richmond. We have built our terrain to international specifications in Palewell Common, East Sheen and many residents and visitors meet up there several days every week in order to enjoy friendly games and occasional competitions. There are no charges involved should you wish to learn to play, or even just to come along and watch the regular players perform? We supply all the equipment needed including a large selection of boules. In addition, we provide free tuition; explain the simple rules as set out by the national associations and much more. This is a game that can be played by all ages. We cater for everyone, including teenage children, grown-ups and pensioners. The earlier you start playing, the better player you’ll become! So now is a good time to get started. Palewell Common and Fields is situated at the junction of Hertford Avenue and Vicarage Road, East Sheen (POSTCODE SW14 8RE) and the Common also has an excellent Pistachios’ barista style coffee shop on site, including toilet facilities and there is always ample free parking. Other sporting activities thrive there include tennis; golf pitch and putt and junior football most weekends.
