The Cat Shack is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization designed to help find homes for cats in need and aid in the fight to end pet overpopulation. Over the years, it has grown to become a large group of devoted volunteers who offer monthly low cost spay/neuter/vaccinations for feral and domestic cats, foster care to over 100 cats and kittens while they await their forever homes, bottle feeding for abandoned infant kittens, medical care, and of course, tons of love and affection. Many cats come to us as strays, orphans and unfortunately, sometimes as unwanted pets. Prior to adoption, we neuter/spay all cats and kittens, bring all required vaccines up-to-date, and test for Feline Leukemia and Feline Immuno deficiency virus. All animals in The Cat Shack program are kept until they find homes.

FOSTER PROGRAM

The Cat Shack is looking for senior citizens willing to open their hearts and homes to well-behaved mature cats that are craving for individual attention! All cats are altered, up to date on shots, and treated for fleas and worms.

As a “foster parent” of a mature cat, The Cat Shack will cover all expenses for any necessary veterinary check-ups or treatment, and will also provide cat food and start up supplies if needed. In addition, our volunteers will help with any necessary transportation needed for your pet. All you provide is fresh water, a clean litter box, and lots of love!

Sadly, mature cats can be hard to place. Most families want young kittens and cats. Sometimes we have cats that just need to be the only pet in the home. Our mature animals have proven themselves to have loving, gentle dispositions, and they seek a quiet home and a warm lap to live out the rest of their days.

Seniors can choose their own foster cats, or we can match a kitty to a foster parent based on preference and personality. Also, if the relationship doesn’t work between the foster parent and cat, or in the event the foster parent becomes unable to care for their cat, The Cat Shack will happily take the cat back. The cat will not be available for adoption to the public unless under the request of the Foster parent. This way, the foster parent can keep the kitty as long as they like!

If you are interested in fostering a Cat Shack mature cat in our Seniors for Seniors Foster Program, please feel free to call The Cat Shack at 610-967-9097 to set up an appointment.

All foster parents are asked to fill out a volunteer application and a contract of agreement prior to the cat coming to their new loving foster home!
