September 21, 2020Dear Parents and guardians,As our school year begins, we would like to introduce our family involvement activities. These activities offer an excellent opportunity for you and your child to become involved in the school learning experience.Family involvement will take place (3) days a week. ***Worksheets will be sent home every Monday and are expected to be returned completed to school the following Monday to be checked. Each week the children will learn new letters and words that begin with each letter. We will also cover one number a week in which we will count objects and be able to recognize the number and their quantities. The third homework will focus on our theme of the month and what we are learning that week.Our theme for the month of September is “All About Me”. During our first week of lessons we will be discussing our responsibilities at school as well as at home. We will be covering different aspects of what makes a person unique. The children will learn about responsibilities, helping hands, their body parts, five senses, emotions, and family. We would like to thank you in advance for helping your child enjoy the learning experience in school, as well as at home. *** Reminder:Homework helpers, please allow the children to do all the drawings and work themselves but feel free to help them label his/ her drawings.Thank you,Miss Jackie & Miss Priscilla Family InvolvementSeptember 23rd – 27th Dear Parents, This week we will begin our theme of the month; “All About Me”. Our unit for this week will be on the children learning about their physical body and how each body part (head, torso, hands, legs, etc.) functions.Our first letter of the week is the letter Cc. The letters taught in class will not be learned in alphabetical order. Our math lesson will deal with sorting, tracing, and recognizing the following shapes: square, rectangle, oval, circle, and triangle shapes.Monday: On the attached worksheet, have your child practice tracing the letter /Cc/. Emphasize to your child the sound the letter /Cc/ makes. Ask your child to say the name of each picture and to draw a circle around the picture that begins with the letter /Cc/.Wednesday: Have your child complete the attached worksheet by naming the object and drawing a line from the object to its corresponding shape.Friday: On the attached worksheet help your child label the different body parts.
