Hello Everyone! Even though this is NOT how I thought we would be starting off our US Government Course, here we are! I wanted to provide you with a little information regarding how we will structure this class and what topics will be covered. Each day you will have a lesson and task to complete related to the curriculum. Please feel free to reach out with any questions/concerns.**Subject to change based on student need** I will definitely let you know of any changes. Please continue to be patient with us as we navigate through this unchartered territory! Brief Course Description: In Economics, we learned that government plays an economic role in our everyday lives: Whether it is providing public goods and services (police, fire, postal service, EDUCATION, etc), resolving market failures (providing subsidies for industries they want to see more of, changing production practices of industries that are harmful to us, prohibiting monopolies), protecting private property rights, or redistributing income (through social welfare programs, unemployment payments, etc).In US Government, we will study the background of the philosophy, functions, and structure of the United States government. We will closely examine the role that government plays in our everyday lives so that we will have a better understanding of the world around us. This being an election year, we will also be focusing on the election process: from the importance to voting, political ideologies, to the election process, it is my hope that you will come away knowing the importance of being civically engaged in their communities and country.Unit 1:?
