Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy For Mrs. Beth Bates’s ClassMy BYOD Classroom PolicyStudents are allowed to bring their own technology device(s) to school this year. Devices allowed in my class include cell phones, laptops, iPads, iPods, Kindles, Nooks, or other tablets. The device needs to have WiFi capability, and the student can login using his/her Novell username and password. Students will have access to free WiFi for 8 hours during the school day.Students are responsible for appropriate use of their personal devices. Each student is required to follow and sign the Limestone County Technology Acceptable Use Policy, as well as, the guidelines set forth in Mrs. Beth Bates’s policy and classroom. Any students who do not sign these will not be permitted to use a device. BYOD is a privilege not a right. Students bring devices at their OWN risk. If students bring a device, those students are responsible for keeping it/them safe and secure. Students WILL NOT be allowed to leave device(s) in Ms. Beth Bates’s classroom. Beth Bates and Elkmont High School will not be held liable for lost or damaged devices. The student is responsible for choices he/she makes when using technology--- this is especially important in respect to others’ ability to learn; in respect to others’ intellectual property; and in respect to words and actions directed toward other students/people.Audio/Video recordings or pictures of Mrs. Beth Bates are PROHIBITED unless my written permission has been given. Taking my picture, recording me in any way, or posting the material without my knowledge or permission will result in an AUTOMATIC office referral for disciplinary action.
