Exact placement level in Language Arts and Math will be done by CPM officials based on teacher recommendation, FSA/State Test scores and/or State/District requirements/assessments. As per the Florida Middle School Reform Act –Each student must meet the following Middle School courses requirements by receiving passing grade to be promoted to high school:3 MS (6th, 7th, & 8th grade) courses in each of the following CORE content areas English/ Language ArtsMathematicsScienceSocial Studies1 MS year (7th Grade) course in civics & economics education1 MS semester (8th Grade) curriculum in career education/planningEnglish Language Arts- (Double period/block class)As per the Florida Middle School Reform Act and CCPS District requirements –Students scoring at a FSA Level 4 or 5 on the Reading portion of the FSA SSS Reading test will be placed in an English/Language Arts (Double period) class.
