Dear Choir Parents,October 17, 2017Our kids are really doing an outstanding job in choir this year. We would really like to spend some time with them outside of the choir class setting so that we can get to know their zany side and they can get to know that we have a sane side. It is often hard to get to know kids when you face 70 – 100 in each class. So, we have come up with a few activities that would be an award for their great work, and also a chance for us to have time with them out of class. The following activities are now on the official Choral calendar. They are only for choir students, and only for students who are receiving an A or B in choir class at the end of the 9 weeks. Students who are causing discipline issues in choir may be excused from their FUN NIGHT if we do not see improvement right away! This is definitely not a mandatory date. Only students who want to come should attend!6009640315595006th Graders will be having a “GLOW-IN” Skate at Eby Pines Roller Rink on Tuesday, November 7thfrom 6 – 7:30 p.m. The cost is $3 per person skating, to help cover the expense of renting the roller rink. Skates will be free. We will be skating in black light, so students may want to wear neon or white that evening. Mr. Norwood and I will be hosting this event, but parents are welcome to join us. We do ask that only choir students skate that night. If you need to bring little ones with you, we would prefer that they do not skate. Parents are welcome to skate! The concession stand will be open. Students may want to bring money in for a snack or pop. We will also sell some glow stick jewelry in class on Monday and Tuesday that week in case students want to put some “BLING” on! Parents should pick their child up at 7:30 p.m. 5617845108521500left4113530007th Graders will be having a pizza n photo costume party Thursday, November 2nd. Students will dress after school in their “school appropriate” HOME MADE costume for the party. Prizes will be given to the students who have the 1. Most Creative Costume 2. The funniest Costume 3. Most Eco-Friendly Costume. The cost is $4 per person to cover pizza, pop, and dessert along with photo props for the scavenger hunt. Students should bring in their money and permission to stay slip by Mon. October 30. Parents should plan on picking up their child at 5:30 p.m. in the teacher’s front parking lot of NMS. 260032512223758th Graders will be having a “lock – in” here at NMS on Friday,_October 28th. This would run Friday night from 8:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Saturday morning. The girls are interested in spending the night…yes the whole night….in the school. Obviously the boys would have to go home by 10:30 p.m. If I (Mrs. A) commit to spending an entire night with my girls, I have to have help. I will need 5 moms to work with me. We have a ton of activities planned and some very sweet girls to work with, so it will be a fun and memorable night, but I just can’t do this one on my own. So, if you are willing to volunteer please send me an email! (Boy Cost is $3 for 8 p.m. – 10 p.m., Girl Cost is $8 for 8 p.m. – 8 a.m.) The fees will help cover: Dinner, midnight snacks, breakfast rolls along with take home crafts, and other expenses. Sincerely, Mrs. Armington and Mr. Norwood……************************************************************************************************Grade 6 (Due Date: ______)My child would like to participate in the 6th Grade Choir Fun Night at Eby Pines.
