Purpose of the challenge: To increase youth membership and have the opportunity for girls outside of Guiding to experience Girl Guides. Crests: A crest is available from the Provincial office for this challenge. To purchase the crests, contact any-orders@girlguides.ca. You can distribute a crest to all the girls and their friends.
Requirements
1. Plan an event (unit meeting, outdoor day, camp, sleepover, etc.) to have the girls bring a friend to experience Girl Guides.
2. Have the girls invite a friend of a similar age to the event. A template that you can use for the invitation is attached, or the girls can make their own invitation.
3. At the event, collect pertinent information (as per Safe Guide) for each of the friends: Full name of the friend Parent/guardian contact name and information during the event Important medical information needed for that event (such as allergies, medications, medical issues that may be relevant) Name of the person picking up the girl from the event A template is attached to collect this information. All Safe Guide procedures must be followed.
4. Have a fun and amazing time at the event! 5. Send out follow-up information to the parents:
Sheet on how to join Guiding (make paper registration forms available) Contact information for the Guider if they want to join the unit Benefits of joining Guiding (a template is available, or you can make your own)

If you would like to become a member of Girl Guides, we would love to have you join. How to join Guiding: You can register online girlguides.ca, or you can register by paper. For paper registration, talk to the Guider you met at the Bring a Friend event. If you require financial support, you can complete a paper registration form and talk to the Guider about how this works. You can register at any time in the year.
