Plea to the Parish:  The Charitable Gaming Board is seeking Board Members as well as volunteers on Monday nights, including Assistant Bingo/Game Managers, Admissions Cashiers, Callers, and Floor Sales personnel.  To volunteer for Bingo, please call Terry 824-9028 or Carol 694-4915.

CAREFREE SENIORS

Carefree Senior’s will not have a regular meeting in November, instead they will be going to a winery on Saturday, November 17; we will meet at the Church at 10:00 AM. If you are over 60, we would like you and your friends to join our group.

ARTS AND ENVIRONMENT

As the Christmas season approaches, the Arts and Environment committee would like to return to an old tradition--that of having each family bring in an ornament to decorate the "family" Christmas tree.  Ornaments can be handmade or bought.  We ask that you put your family's name, the year and if desired, picture on the back.  Past family decorations that have been preserved will be put on the tree; a list of family names will be posted on the bulletin board in the hallway.  Please bring your ornament before November 30; place your ornament in the basket located in the hall.

GUEST TRAINING –

GUEST VOLUNTEER training will be on Saturday November 17 at 11am. This will be in the fellowship hall as Grace Covenant Presbyterian. The training will last about one hour and there will be lite refreshments. Any members who have not been trained or would like a refresher, this is great opportunity to fellowship, ask questions and prepare for this winter season. Remember everyone who volunteers MUST be trained.

RCIA - MATTHEW: THE KING AND HIS KINGDOM:

On Saturday, November 17, from 2:30 to 4:30, come join fellow parishioners and those discerning the Catholic faith for a discussion of Chapters 24 and 25 of Matthew’s Gospel. Father Jim will be presenting on the topic of Jesus predicting the “end of an era”. He will also discuss what the “Communion of Saints” means for Catholics. Drop in any week the topic interests you; bring a friend. All are welcome! Contact Kerry Fallon in the parish office with any questions.

BISHOP’S RESIDENCE

“As announced in Bishop Knestout’s June 11, 2018 letter, work is now underway at 800 S. Cathedral Place to restore the property as Bishop Knestout’s permanent residence. Originally designed as a home for the Bishop in 1907, the building previously had been home to Cathedral parish offices. Parish offices are now located next door at 823 Cathedral Place the former home of Catholic Campus Ministry (CCM). CCM has moved to 20 N. Laurel across from the Cathedral. More details will follow once the extent of the repairs and the budget are finalized.”

PRAYER OF ATONEMENT

Our church, especially its bishops, must continually seek forgiveness for our failures from those who have suffered as a result of those failures. So let us pray for all victims of abuse, and express sorrow for the failure of Church leaders, let us seek forgiveness for our sins, and ask for the guidance of the Holy Spirit in the ongoing healing of the People of God. Amen

(excerpt from Bishop Barry C. Knestout’s invitation to Pray for Victims of Abuse issued August 15, 2018)
