Guidance document from PSC attached to outline changes.Certification Transition Guidance Document7PSC Automated Renewal SystemPSC’s automated renewal system is up and running. Attached is the guidance document explaining the new changes. The steps for automated renewal are:1. An educator with a professional certificate expiring 6/30/2020 logs into their MyPSC account to answer the personal affirmation questions. This may be completed at any point during the school year of expiration, July 1 to June 30.2. System requests a renewal transaction in ExpressLane for the educator. Note: Unless the educator must verify their lawful presence in the U.S., there is no need to upload or fax any documentation to the Certification Division.3. Upon completing the ExpressLane renewal request and clicking “Nothing to Upload” on the final page, the renewed certificate will be processed automatically within seconds. The renewed certificate will be available to view by clicking the educator’s certificate ID on your ExpressLane homepage or by using the Quick Lookup feature on your homepage.Note: A “yes” answer to one or more MyPSC personal affirmation questions will result in an ethics case with the GaPSC Ethics division upon completion of the ExpressLane transaction. Educators who hold/have held a GaPSC issued certificate/license have property rights, which means the certification transaction may be completed prior to completion of an ethics investigation. Educators with one unremediated Needs Development, Ineffective, or Unsatisfactory summative evaluation earned during the validity period of the certificate will not be eligible for renewal until after the summative evaluation for the current school year is completed, the educator does not receive a second low performing rating, and the Superintendent has signed off on all UNSATs for the academic year.Educators with two or more unremediated Needs Development, Ineffective, or Unsatisfactory summative evaluations earned during the validity period of the certificate will not be eligible for renewal unless the summative evaluation for the current school year is Proficient, Exemplary, or Satisfactory, in which case the LUA may enter prior low performance ratings as remediated in the UNSAT portion of your account. Otherwise, the educator is only eligible for a Waiver certificate at the request of the employing Georgia LUA.Automatic Renewal Process Guidance Document8GaTAPP2020 Cohort Applications are now available.
