1. Start here:
Set-up account
← Make sure I have an email account I can access.
← Go to and set up my MyGED account.
← Record the email address and password used to create the account for future access.

Age Alert for 16-18 year olds
← 16-, 17-, and 18-year olds must submit proof of withdrawal from school or other permissions—forms and information located under the exclamation point on the dashboard at MyGED ().
3. Ready to move on:
Take GED Ready™: The Official Practice Test
← Take the Ready™ test at MyGED at
← Allow your teacher to view your scores by granting permission on the score report page at MyGED.
← Discuss your enhanced score report with your instructor(s) to target your study to improve your scores.
Schedule the Test
← Once you pass a Ready™ test, go to and schedule that same module of the GED® test—no need to wait until you pass all four parts.
← Find the testing centers near you by entering your address in the center locator at MyGED ().
4. Final Preparation

← Find test tips on the dashboard.
← Read the test day information.
← Review the cancellation policy.
← Find out what to bring to the test center on test day.
5. Read and sign
I Understand …
← I must change or cancel my test at least 24 hours before my appointment time or I will lose my payment.
← If I cancel my appointment with less than 24 hours-notice or do not show up, I will not receive a refund.
← I must present a valid government-issued photo ID in order to be admitted for testing. The name on my record must match the name on my photo ID.
← I may be asked to present a second form of identification.
← If my photo ID has an out-of-state address, I will have to present proof of my KY address, such as a utility bill with my name and address.
← No personal items, including cell phones, are allowed inside the testing room. Cell phones are strictly forbidden in the testing room. If I have a cell phone during testing, I will be escorted out and my test will not be scored. I will need to reschedule and pay for another test.
