She has aired her views about so many gender issues. She has involved students with plethora of practical examples. At the end she asked boys to be sensitive towards girls and to girls to be confident enough to face the world.6th Nov ,2015Crime Stopper What’s App Number 7087239010 It was circulated amongst students and they were informed that this is the initiative being taken up by the Chandigarh Police regarding Stopping Crime in the city. They were further informed that if they Found any corruption or any illegal activity in and around city. They can share/complain / suggest and inform Chandigarh Police regarding the same through videos, photos etc and Chandigarh Police will surely then take action in this regard and also the information provided will be kept secret.27th Nov 2015FIR App video shown and circulated:FIR app video was shown to the students. Girl students were told about this app and they feel excited that they can take help anytime with this easy application. In this application one has to register with name email-id and phone number. Then clicking on this app one will find help button and clicking on this will connect the person to the control room. The police personal can reach on time to help the needy and some big mishappening can be avoided.07th Dec 2015Community Outreach Programme :Society organized a community outreach Programme in the construction worker colony. Students and teachers went to the place to do the Programme. This effort included a personal hygiene awareness talk. It was followed by a distribution of Dettol soap, tooth paste and tooth brush to every member of the vanity. Then the Dean Academics, Dr.RosyWalia donates the shoes to the small kids of every age. The smiles on the faces of residents and kids proved the success of our small effort.13th Jan 2016“LohriKaPaigaam,BetionKaNaam” Society organized a lohri Celebration of Girl children from the slum area .They were invited to college campus to add warmth to the holibonfire. The Dean of the College Dr. Rosy Walia did a generous job of distributing bangles, clothes and sweets. The slum children also enjoyed kite flying and dancing with students and teachers. The festival revolves around the“LohriKaPaigaam,BetionKeNaam”message that girl children are really special.11th Feb 2016Seminar on Domestic ViolenceA seminar on the topic “Domestic Violence Act” was conducted in collaboration with DainikBhaskar. The key speakers for the event were Mr. Ripudaman Singh Roop, Mr. UmeshNarang And Mr.Ranjivan Singh, Advocates and Members of High Court Bar Association. The speakers shared their experiences on different cases of violence. They made the students aware of the different types of domestic violence prevailing in our society and how system can be helpful in curbing it. They also suggested various helplines available. The seminar ended with the queries of the students where their doubts regarding the Act were clarified and students were motivated to take actions if in case they face.14th March 2016Interactive session on Down syndrome by Genetic Department of GMCH-32, Chandigarh.Gender sensitization society organized a one day awareness Programme in co-ordination with “Chandigarh Down Syndrome Society” of GMCH Sector-32 on 14 March 2016 on the theme “My Friends, My Community”. Dr.GurjeetKaur presided over the function and carried out an interactive session to create awareness amongst students about “Down Syndrome”. She discussed various types of precautionary test available to detect “Down Syndrome” during pregnancy. She also enlightened students regarding various other genetic disorders. ................
