Elks National Foundation Scholarship

Deadline: November 15, 2020

Scholarship Information: The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2021 competition.

• Male and female students compete separately.

• Ranging from $1,000 per year to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. All scholarships are in the form of certificates of award conditional upon the full-time enrollment of the winner in an accredited U.S. college or university.

MLK Scholarship

Deadline: December 2, 2020

Scholarship Information: Students will be required to provide demographic/financial information, provide educational goals, obtain one letter of recommendation from pastor, community leader, teacher, or college administrator, and show official proof of enrollment in college or vocational/technical school (prior to receiving funds). Completed applications must be received by Wednesday, 12/2/2020 by 5:00pm at address provided on the application. Scholarship application is provided in CHS’ counseling office, as well as Schoology.

Georgia State University Presidential Scholarship

Scholarship Information: Today’s Georgia State Presidential Scholars are tomorrow’s leaders and innovators. They are committed to performing significant work in their chosen fields.

Scholarship Benefits and Deadlines

Presidential Scholars receive the following benefits each semester for eight semesters:

• Cost of tuition and fees (through HOPE/ZELL for GA residents)

• Cost of mandatory student fees

• Cost of housing

• A yearly living expense stipend

• A one-time $2,500 stipend for credit-bearing study abroad expenses

• Opportunity to compete for a paid University Assistantship to explore research and engaging work experience in an academic department

• Access to individualized classes and mentoring opportunities

This award totals up to $28,000 per year depending on in/out-of-state student status and University Assistantship participation.

To be considered for this highly competitive scholarship you must:

• Apply to Georgia State University by the priority deadline of December 8, 2020.

• Be an incoming first-year student, planning to attend Georgia State for the first time in Fall 2021. Current Georgia State students are ineligible.

PB&J Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2001

Scholarship Information: The PB&J Scholarship is for students who have experienced personal challenges (for example: medical issues, school change(s), foster care, loss of a loved one, etc.) that may have affected their academic record, but still have the drive to succeed. The scholarship is open to high school seniors planning to attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college in the united states, and awards range from $500 - $1,000.

Army ROTC Scholarships

Scholarship Information: The Army ROTC Program is a college elective program that gives students the opportunity to learn basic leadership skills while attending traditional college courses.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP PAY?

· Full Tuition and Fees OR Room and Board at $5,000 per semester ($10,000 per academic school year). Cadets can only choose one or the other.

· $600 a semester for books ($1200 per year).

· Monthly STIPEND of $420 per month excluding summers. This monthly stipend is also offered to those who are non-scholarship cadets.

Georgia Highlands Foundation Scholarships

Scholarship Information: Georgia Highlands College Foundation has been committed to supporting the college and our students since 1973.  The Foundation is driven to enhance education, create opportunities for students, faculty and staff to succeed as well as expand the horizons of Georgia Highlands College. James B. Duke Scholarship

Scholarship Information: In keeping with the life of Mr. Duke, these high achieving students will demonstrate through their admission application and a required supplement that their academic achievement, talent, work ethic, resilience and concern for others give evidence of their capacity to make a difference in the world.

James B. Duke Scholars will be awarded full tuition and fees plus a $5,000 stipend to be used for applied, relevant learning experiences during their Davidson tenure. Duke Scholars will be offered guidance and mentoring by the program director.

Finalists for the James B. Duke Scholarships will be notified in March and will participate in Celebration & Recognition/Decision Davidson Weekend in April. All first-year students admitted to the college, via early decision or regular decision, are eligible for consideration for the James B. Duke Scholarship.

Lincoln Tech (Formerly Nashville Auto Diesel College) Scholarship

University of North Georgia Military Scholarship

Scholarship Information: Each year, the state of Georgia awards 42 outstanding high school seniors the University of North Georgia Military Scholarship. The UNGMS is a full four-year scholarship that pays for tuition, fees, books, room, meals, and uniforms. It is valued at $85,000+. To be eligible, student must be a Georgia resident, have good moral character, be fit to become a member in the Georgia Army National Guard, have a 3.0 Cumulative GPA, have a SAT (480 Math/26 sub score for Reading) or ACT (20 English/ 18 Math) score, and meet all UNG Freshman admission standards. You can then also see all the scholarships you applied for, or may want to apply to in the future. They also have “contests” that you can enter monthly or weekly to win money.

While the College Board is known for its college-readiness tests, it also has an arm that focuses on scholarships. Big Future hosts scholarships, as well as other financial aid and internship information from more than 2,200 programs — totaling nearly $6 billion. In order to get the most accurate search results, it’s critical to fill out as many details as you can in the profile that’s used for searching.

SallieMae is a well-known education and student loan provider. The site’s College Planning page has a scholarship portal where you can search based on your field of study, hobbies and other parameters. Create a personal profile in order to get the most accurate matches that fit your needs.

7. Scholarship Monkey

Scholarship Monkey allows you to search for scholarships a few different ways. You can search by keyword, browse scholarship lists (various categories/topics) and also see lists of the latest and featured scholarships. The site also allows you to create a personal profile for more accurate results.

8. Cappex

Cappex hosts a database of more than $11 billion in scholarship opportunities. Once you create a personal profile, you can search for opportunities that directly match your strengths and skills. Plus, Cappex has a tool that will calculate your odds of getting into a certain college before you even apply.

Chegg is widely known for its online textbook store that allows students to either rent or buy textbooks for cheap. But Chegg is also a great resource for finding scholarships — more than $1 billion worth of them.

To search for available scholarships, click on the menu stack at the top right of the homepage and select the “scholarships” in the drop-down menu. Once you create a personal profile, you can search for available opportunities that match your criteria. Chegg also has a “top scholarship picks this week” category that highlights some options you may have missed.

According to the official Student Aid website, this free tool is a great resource for students to search more than 7,500 scholarships, grants and other various types of financial aid award opportunities.

The CareerOneStop tool allows you to:

• Narrow your list with a “search by keyword” option: Just enter a keyword about the type of award you’re looking for.
