Lesson Outline – Chapter Six.
Note: Homework assignments are underlined below in bold print. The homework that is not to be turned in will be covered in class. As we work through each chapter you will be asked to be prepared to go over other exercises in the textbook in preparation for the next class session. Some of these preparatory assignments are not listed below and will be assigned in advance of the next class session.
ALL HOMEWORK MUST BE SUBMITTED IN COMPLETE SENTENCES!!
The CD tracks involving the conversations (Dialoge – orange titles) reproduce the conversations exactly. The CD tracks involving the exercises (Übungen – purple titles) give extra grammar practice and do not necessarily exactly reproduce the information presented in each Übung.
Abbreviations: TB = textbook. E= Deutsch mit Emil.

CD 5, track 8: “Hören Sie gut zu!” (“Listen carefully!”) Herr Müller und Frau Schmidt sprechen zusammen. Practice conversation that is not in the TB. CD 5 track 9 has practice questions about track 8.
CD 5 tracks 10 - 13: “Übung zur Aussprache” (“Pronunciation practice”) The German letters “b”, “d” and “g”.
2) Wortschatz Eins, TB Seite hundertsiebenundvierzig. Learn this vocabulary!
3) Variationen, TB Seite hundertachtundvierzig – Variation A – persönliche Fragen (personal questions). Variation B: Übung: Das möchte ich auch. Practice with weak verbs. Variation C: Übung: Was meinen Sie? (What do you think?) Practice with opposites.
4) TB Seite hundertneunundvierzig: furniture and accessories.
5) TB Seite hundertfünfzig. Ein Gedicht von Goethe. (A poem by Goethe)
6) TB Seite hundertfünfzig und TB Seite hunderteinundfünfzig: the simple past of the verb “sein”.

CD 5, track 19 has practice with the perfect tense with the verb “sein”, based on Kettenreaktion 7, p. 154.
