JESSICA CLARK LAUNCHES “INCREDIBLE GIRL” CONTEST

Participants encouraged to share their “Incredible Girl” moment for a chance to win

LOS ANGELES, CA -- February 01, 2011 -- Former model and rising actress Jessica Clark is launching a contest for the “Incredible Girl” short film project. Women everywhere are invited to describe the monumental moments of self-discovery in their lives through written or video content to receive gifts and help promote the project.

“Incredible Girl” is a short film that takes place in a nightclub setting, exploring a scene in which a young club dancer is propositioned by a powerful woman who ignites a spark in the innocent protagonist. “It is an epiphany moment about personal empowerment, something we all can relate to,” says filmmaker Celia Aurora de Blas, who created the story from her own experiences.

A years-long work-in-progress, de Blas hopes that “Incredible Girl” will resonate with the lesbian community, whose youth are in need of films that mirror their life experiences. Her friend and colleague Jessica Clark celebrates her passion and vision, and is helping promote the video through the contest. “The moment that really sticks out is the moment when I first asked out the woman who is now my wife, Lacy,” Clark told “Incredible Girl” filmmaker de Blas in a video interview. “I asked her out and I was lucky enough that she said yes and I was lucky enough that she kept saying yes,” said Clark. “Lacy is so incredible. She really is my incredible girl.” Clark and her wife Lacy Stone co-host a weekly lesbian love and relationship advice column on the Logo network website, AfterEllen ().

“We want to hear about your personal ‘incredible girl’ moment where you surprised yourself and you took a leap of faith,” says “Incredible Girl” writer and director Celia Aurora de Blas. “Or a moment when you met somebody who blew you away just because of who they are. Send us your thoughts and videos!”

At today’s date, the film has raised just over $4,000 of its $6,111 budget from 63 online contributors. An additional $2,000 is needed to begin shooting. Contributors can receive a variety of gifts, from free iTunes downloads to lickable body oils, vegan cinnamon buns, free chiropractic sessions, and even executive producer credits.
