Sunday Best: Knuckle

Sunday, 13 October 2013

KNUCKLE takes us into the secretive Traveller world - a world of long and bitter memories and a history of violent clashes between rival clans,

which has sometimes resulted in death. In this epic journey, shot over 12 years, the action moves from a quiet Irish country lane in 1997 and

culminates a decade later in a major fight planned to take place near Luton, England in 2007.

The film follows the fighting life of James Quinn McDonagh, unbeaten against his opponents, a fight organiser and hero to his family. His

younger brother Michael is in intense training for a rematch against 'Big' Paul Joyce, a top fighter from the Joyce family. An unpredictable

character and keen to prove himself Michael hopes to mend his reputation after being disqualified in a previous fight against Paul Joyce nine

years before in 1999. KNUCKLE documents the brothers' journey from youth to early middle age through the significant moments in their lives,

and shows how the bitterness of their clan's feud continues to overshadow everything else.

KNUCKLE gives a hard-edged portrait of Traveller male culture and explores the bonds of loyalty, the need for revenge and the pressures to

fight for the honour of your family name. Vivid, violent and funny, KNUCKLE gains unique access into the fighting culture of a hidden,

contemporary community. KNUCKLE is a rare chance to step inside one of the world's most vibrant and elusive communities.

This week on The Undateables we meet extreme sports enthusiast 34-year-old Samantha, who appears to have it all - amazing friends, a beautiful

home, and even a PhD in Psychology. The only thing eluding her is: "I think - well - why can't it happen to me?" Sam has achondroplasia, the

Inside The Body Beautiful: How Fat Works

Wednesday, 16 October 2013 Final

Inside the Body Beautiful is a 2-part series exploring the physiological and psychological changes that happen as young people strive to alter

their appearance. Using computer graphics we travel inside the body to explore the science behind the most popular beauty and cosmetic

treatments.

This week Inside the Body Beautiful looks at the physiological and psychological pressures young people face as they battle the bulge. Using

computer graphics to travel inside the body this film explores the science of fat, how we get it and what happens to our body when we get rid

of it.

We follow Ebonie on a crash diet as she attempts to lose one stone in a month to shape up for her summer holiday. Despite the rapid weight loss

she soon discovers over half of this is muscle and water and not fat, most of which will go straight back on as she start to eat properly

again.

Desperate to achieve his perfect body, 27-year-old Joe from Essex has decided to undergo an extreme vaser liposuction operation. For over

23-year-old Hayley has struggled with her relationship with food all her life. She is one of the 2% of people in the UK who suffer from
