The category of the assignment will be stated before it is given to the students. In order to pass, a student must complete his or her assignments in a timely manner. Grades will be weighted as follows:? 25% - Tests (Benchmarks/Formative Assessments (CFA’s)/Research Paper*/Reports/Major Essays/Projects)? 75% - Daily Work / Quizzes/Homework/Class Participation/Other? Semester Exams: core semester exams will be 15% of final grade (will impact GPA)*Note: During the quarter in which the research paper is done, that may be the only grade in the category. Therefore, the research paper may count for 25% of that quarter grade. Late Work and Make-up Work:Late work will receive a deduction of 10 points for each day late and will not be accepted after the third day late. Absent students will receive one day extra for every excused absence. Long-term projects cannot be turned in as make-up or late work. If a student is absent the day of an exam, he or she will be expected to take a make-up exam the day after he or she returns; it may not be the same exam. All major and/or pre-existing assignments are to be turned in on the day they are due. Progress ReportsProgress Reports will be brought home by the student every three (3) weeks. If you do not receive a progress report from your child, email me or call me at the school so that another copy can be mailed to you.Supplies / Materials NeededPencils and pens (Blue, Black, Red)Loose-leaf paperA 3”Section of a Three-ring binder Dividers (810 tabs for all classes)Highlighters (4 color pkg.)USB / Pen driveOptional pencil pouchID card with Internet sticker1 200 page spiralGeneral Class Expectations1.
