It can be about school or global news. This week’s question is ‘Can you think of ways to remain positive during difficult times?’ and is understandably about our newfound time spent at home. There are a few resources to look – One to get the children thinking about ideas to keep positive at home, a poster giving parents guidance for the question, and a sheet they can fill in about their favourite activity to do at home.If they finish this and want to do some more, they can read for pleasure.English writing (45 Minutes)To start writing an exciting adventure storyThe children need to start to write their stories using the planning frame they did yesterday. This writing will be spread over two days. If you want to write it all in one day that is up to you. The best way to start would be to spend 5 minutes talking about what they are going to write, around 30 minutes of writing, and then 10 minutes to read what they have written, make sure it makes sense, they have remembered capital letters/full stops/conjunctions etc. Have them refer to their plans.I will send an opening paragraph as a guide for the children.Maths (45 Minutes)To understand how to use non-unit fractionsStarter – do a daily 10 activity online - It can also be found by googling daily 10. The children will need to choose level 2 – Today they should try a subtraction activity!Continuing from yesterday’s learning – PowerPoint on non-unit fractions. There will be a short video, helping the children with today’s learning. Today they only need to be able to recognise non-unit fractions (2/2, 2/3, 3/3, 2/4, 3/4, 4/4), and they don’t need to find non-unit fractions of a number – that is year 3 work. P.E.
