Google My Business is a free tool created to help businesses manage their online presence across the Google platform. A Google My Business account (or listing, or profile) can be considered a combination of an online directory listing and a social media profile. For example, when you search in google say “City Center Mangalore”, you would see information regarding this on the right screen which includes the company information, location and the map, hours of operation, reviews and lot of other information. These type of information’s are created through Google My Business. Without opening the actual website a visitor can see all the information they want to know. You can also search these through Google Maps. For example, if I search “Restaurants near me” in Google Maps. You will see the list of the restaurants and also the pinned location on the maps. lefttop00Customers can enable/use Google My Business within the customer portal (Home). Note that the customer needs to have a website which is published and a domain associated to it. Once these requirements are met, customers will see the Google Business tile in the Home right below the Manage Sites and in the Manage site window. Until they meet the basic requirements these options will be hidden.Before going online with the Google Business, customers will need to verify the Website/Domain with Google just like any other google services. First thing, customers need to connect their google account with this tool. Most of the customers will already have a google account. If not, they will need to create a new one. Once the account is connected, customers will be asked for the details of the website like: Name of the Business, category, Business type, Address of the business, Business contact details and Website address. For Category there will be a predefined list from which the customers will need to choose their business category. For business type, you will see the following 3 types.After submitting all the details, customers will be directed to validation process. Customers will be asked to verify by SMS/Call/email address/mail. This will be a googles decision on which options the customer will get. In the below screenshot google has provided an option for verification by mail (postcard). The verification will be a code or a kind of OTP which the customers’ needs to submit to google.Customers can proceed with updating of other information regarding their business such as the company description, hours of operation and other information which you can see in the first screenshot. Once the business verification is completed With Google My Business, customers can see the visitor trends, how many customers search for the business, how many customers have viewed the listing. How many customers viewed the website through google my business and so on. Customers can continue to manage their google my business settings within the customer portal. If the customer cancels the account with us, the google my business account will be disconnected with the builder account and they will be able to manage the tool independently with google. ................
