Ministers' foreword

The Victorian Government wants all Victorians to have equal access to important everyday services and opportunities.

Through Victoria's concession program, we're providing a helping hand to people who need it most by making essential goods and services more affordable. We want all Victorians to be able to meet the costs of living, to fully participate in the community and reach their potential.

Concessions help low-income earners to afford essential services such as housing, water, energy, health, education and transport. This means more people can get the goods and services they need to sustain better living standards, and improve their health and wellbeing.

Victoria's concessions program supports over 911,000 Victorian households to pay for vital services.

This guide has been designed to make it easier for people to identify and apply for concessions that suit their needs. It includes valuable information about how household concessions can help meet the cost of rates, water, energy and gas bills.

We're pleased to present this guide to the Victorian concessions program so all Victorians can equally access the services they need and enjoy a good quality of life.
