How to Install the GO5 GPS Tracking DeviceThe GO5 GPS Tracker is designed to be self installed for most vehicle types. The GO5 comes ready to plug into all vehicles that are equipped with auto industry standard OBD2 diagnostic plug in/port. This port is typically found around the parking brake / fuse panel section of the vehicle. In most cases just run your hand along the bottom of the plastic of the lower dash area & you’ll find the OBD2 plug easily. Picture #2 above shows the GO5 unit installed in a Ford F350 Van.Blue Security Zip-Seal GPStoGO recommends the installation of the GO5 Zip Seal with each GO5 device in order to assure secure installation and prevent tampering. Installation InstructionsOnce you have received your GO5 device(s) contact GPStoGO at 1-613-680-8402 or email Len at len@gpstogo.ca. Please have your units serial numbers information available to validate activation.Record the device Serial Number and the VIN # or Plate # each device will be assigned to. This information will be used in the MyGeoTab web setup. (See the Customer Profile & Order Request document available on gpsold.themaids/.)Each Go5 devices includes a numbered Geotab brand Zip-Seal. Record the number printed on the seal, as well as the GO5 device, to be installed together in the selected vehicle.Locate the OBD2 port and insert low profile end of the GO5 device into the port. You will hear beeping and see the 3 LED lights flash. Red-Power; Green - Cell Connection; Blue (GPS Latch)In the event that the beeping or light displays do not occur as described, gently remove the by grasping at the top of the casing. Re-insert the device to test for power. If power is not accessed, please refer to "DBD2 Port is Defective" below.The GO5 device will continue to beep sporadically for approximately 10 -15 minutes as it completes diagnostics checks. If the device continues to beep, further setup on the MyGeoTab site may be required. 5. Insert the pointed end of the Zip-Seal up and over the top of the GO5 (toward the front of the vehicle), bringing the cable toward you (under the device) while including the OBD2 port. Check to make sure the Zip-Seal is secured in the center groove of the GO5’s device, tighten the Zip Seal and cut off excess tie material. Relocation CablesThe location of the OBD2 port in some vehicle models do not allow the GO5 to be installed clear of driver contact. To relocate the device for driver safety and to assure secure product performance, the device may be installed with a Relocation Cable. Contact your GPStoGo Service Technician to order a GO5 Installpack. Use of this cable with the GO5 device does not require onsite Technician installation.OBD2 Port is defective:If power is not available to the OBD2 port to support the GO5 device, please contact GPStoGO at 1-613-680-8402.Please have your units serial numbers available. If we determine power is not available through your OBD2 port we may recommend vehicle repair by your local vehicle mechanic. An alternative solution may include installation using a device adaptor available through GPStoGO. Installation of this adaptor requires installation by a GPStoGO contracted technician in order to retain GO5 device warranty.
