The Graduate Certificate in Pastoral Care serves those who either envision or are themselves engaged in pastoral care in both formal and informal settings, and would benefit from supplemental training in that role.

The certificate is not designed to prepare an individual for a professional career in clinical counseling.

This certificate is designed for individuals currently in ministry who have a graduate degree from a theological institution.

PROGRAM GOALS

Students will: ? learn how pastoral care fits with the broader mental health community ? develop the skills needed in order to competently provide short-term pastoral care services ? be able to create a mental health network for the purposes of support and referral ? learn the basic components and guidelines to understand how to conduct the ethical practice of pastoral care
