The Keith’s have a 1956 Chevy Nomad and a 1927 Ford Touring. Andy & Judy introduced Dave Shell, who drove his 1946 REO Speedwagon to the meeting. Both submitted membership applications. This was Dave’s first meeting; Ron and Sally have attended several other club functions and are eligible for membership.VOTE IN NEW MEMBERS Ron & Sally Keith were voted unanimously into membership.MINUTES January 9th minutes were presented, motion by Ray Jacobs, second by Ronna Bixby to accept minutes as presented. TREASURER’S REPORT Bonnie stated the beginning balance of $3,252.07 in checking account, $51.83 petty cash, $0.20 in stamps, Store petty cash $30. Income of $36 in dues and $115 for the Marine fund. Expenses were $100 to Blue Line Graphics and $500 to So Cal Show Productions for Cruisin Grand sponsorship. $2,803.07 ending balance, $2,885.10 total assests. Filed for audit. MARINE CORPS DONATION The Marine Corps balance is at $115. Several items were donated by Barbara, Ronna and Marcia which were raffled off with proceeds going to the YMCA Marine Fund. Each year we try to donate at least $1500 to the Chaplain on Camp Pendleton to help young Marines and Sailors. Last year it was just under $2500.GARAGE MEETING No Garage meetings until the spring. Tim asked for volunteers to take over the garage meetings. Maybe each month a different member would set up the garage meeting. March will be at an upholstery shop in Oceanside, April is the Garage Sale, Steve Shapiro mentioned a Hot Rod Shop that has just opened up in Oceanside, and he will try to set something up for May. Jon Anderson has an awesome home shop and he said he would host a garage meeting there.OLD BUSINESS Tim reported on the events of last month. The Farewell Burger Run was a huge success and the club logo was placed in the center of the back of the shirt. Steve Moore donated $100 to have his business logo on the back, but it was misspelled. Blue Line Graphics is making 24 shirts for Steve’s business in lieu of a refund.Cruisin Grand fundraiser was a huge success. The club donated $500 to Steve Waldron in support of the event. Steve promised to put the club logo on the posters and banners. He also made several thank you announcements about the club during the event.The workshop at Terry & Bonnie’s was a success, the club lift is almost done, it just needs to have the wiring and air connected and it is ready to go. The next workshop will be on February 17th. Meet at Coyote Café at 8am, and then caravan up the hill to Terry’s to finish the lift. Charlie Buel said that there is an Open House at Dode Martin’s home in Fallbrook, starts at 2pm. Check with Charlie if you wish to attend. Dode was the owner of Dragmaster and recently passed away. There will be lots of drag racers, hot rodders at this memorial event. NEW BUSINESS We discussed the Big 3 Parts Exchange in February. The club currently purchases 7 spaces for this swap meet, however interest in the event has waned and it was discussed if we should decrease the number of spaces. A motion by Barbara with a second by Bill Scott to only purchase 4 tickets for next year. Vote was a tie, Ray Jacobs made a motion with Charlie Buel second to not buy any tickets next year, passed unanimously. We haven’t confirmed a date for hosting Cruisin Grand yet. It will be in June, but an exact date is yet to be determined.Jean Scott has agreed to take over the greeting cards from Susie. Bonnie provided Jean with a large box of cards and made a motion to authorize Jean to purchase stamps and be reimbursed by the club. Passed unanimously.Bonnie asked if anyone was interested in taking over the club store. If you would like to have an easy job in the club, this is great. There are 3 bins of shirts, hats, pens and plaques that need to be brought to the business meetings. You would also be the liaison with the graphics people. A date for the Annual Club Garage Sale at Bob and Judy Bliss’s home was set for April 21st. Start cleaning out your houses and garages and deliver it to the Bliss’s the week before the sale. This is a great fun event and we raise a lot of money for the Armed Services YMCA on Camp Pendleton, plus there are some great bargains to be had. It’s a fun way to buy each other’s no longer wanted items. The club provides food and beverage and Judy keeps us entertained.First Saturday event at Feliccia’s Deli. This event has been growing and Sam is putting out a really good breakfast. It is the First Saturday of every month and starts at 7am. Greg Copeland invited the club to attend the Oceanside Cruisers weekly breakfast at Fresh Start Café on Coast Highway. They meet around 8am and have breakfast at 8:30 every Saturday. Address is 1034 S. Coast Highway, Oceanside. Rex & Marcia said Legacy Brewery hosts a car show on the first Saturday from 2 to 6 pm. They usually have a food truck there and plenty of beverages. March 10th is the San Marcos High School Car Show, Rancho Santa Fe at San Marcos Boulevard, San Marcos. You can pull down a flyer from the web.March 17th is the South O Car show. This is Dino Iacovino’s show to support his children’s elementary school. Huge show with Cars, Bikes and Boats. Awesome raffle prizes.April 22nd is the Heartbeat Show at Bate’s Nut Farm. April 28th Motte Museum show. They have a cut off, so if you plan to attend, get your registration in early or you may be left out.May 19th is El Camino High School show.June 15th is La Paloma Show. Free show with free lunch. Limit to about 15 cars.June 22nd is Silverado Show. Free Show with free lunch. This will be our 11th year at this event.
