Attendance Advisory Lesson: Inspirational Quote



Purpose: To have the students write a paragraph reflection on one of the inspirational quotes included.

Time: 20 minutes

Materials: Journals and list of inspirational quotes

Assignment: Warm Up

Class discussion on inspirational quotes

ESLRs: Self Directed Learners

Warm-Up: Does anyone have an inspirational quote they would like to share? Discuss what it means to individuals and is it OK to have a different opinion.

Independent Work: Student will select at least one quote from the list and write a one paragraph reflection on what the quote means to them.

Partner share then group share:

• What quote did you choose?

• Why was it meaningful to you?

• Is this a quote that you could share with others?

• Read the reflection to your partner and group.

Closure: How many students choose the same quote?

What are the similarities and differences in the quotes?
