About the RoleWe are looking to recruit up to 2 new Girls and Teen Programme Facilitators to join our team, to deliver our programme of support for autistic and neurodiverse girls (aged 7-12) and teens (aged 13-17) on a sessional basis. These facilitators will support the girls and teens for short sessions during weekends or weekday evenings between 1 and 4 times a month (as agreed), although further hours may be available in due course. Planning time arranged at the post-holder’s convenience will also be paid. This would be for between 6 and 15 hours per month with the potential to do more hours if further programmes are agreed.You will be working within a small team to plan and support? neurodiverse ??girls and teens to? ?access a range of activities?? based on their interests and hobbies, such as Arts and Crafts, gaming, ICT, Music and Drama, animals and more, which support Appeer’s key strands. You will also plan and deliver support for a new teen mentoring programme as well as the individual sessions themselves. You may also occasionally facilitate activities arranged for parents/carers as appropriate.?What are We Looking For?The successful candidate will be able to develop a good rapport ?with? the? girls and teens,? ?their? ?families? ?and ?colleagues, have? ?the? ?enthusiasm? ?to? ?engage? the?m ?in? the group activities and ?with their peers and have sufficient skills??in? Literacy,? ?Numeracy? ?and? ?ICT? ?to? ?be? ?able? ?to? ?support? ?the? activities? effectively. The successful candidate will be able to? ?use? ?their? ?own? ?initiative? ?to ?meet?? ?the?? girls’ and teens’ varying? ?and? complex?? ?needs. Experience of working with autistic and neurodiverse young people, including girls, is essential, and a willingness to undertake specific training will be required.?The successful candidate will also have expertise and/or substantial experience in one of the following – or similar – hobby areas common to our programmes: Gaming, Drama and other Creative or Performing Arts, Arts/Crafts, Digital Technology, Pets, Cosplay/Anime, Lego/construction, Cooking, Outdoors/Nature.
