Osceola County Fair Open Class Entries - 2021Entries Accepted: Tuesday, July 13, 5:00 - 8:00 PMWednesday, July 14, 8:00 - 12:00 AMJudging begins Wednesday, July 18 at 1:00 PM - Building closed to visitors.Place a checkmark in only the boxes in front of the items you wish to enter. GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS1. Gates: 7:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M.2. All diligence will be used to insure the safety of the livestock and other exhibits after their arrival. The Osceola County Fair Board employs policemen to guard exhibits on the grounds. No liability will be assumed by the Fair Association, in the case of breakage or vandalism.3. All premium holders who have claims to be adjusted must make complaints within 15 days following the close of the fair or forfeit that right. No premiums will be changed after that date. 4. The sale or drinking of intoxicating liquors will be absolutely prohibited on the fair grounds. No gambling device or privilege of questionable or demoralizing character will be permitted. 5. All Open Class and Commercial exhibits will be released between 12:00 and 12:30 P.M. on Sunday, July 18. 6. The Open Class and Commercial buildings will open at 10:00 A.M. each day and will close at 9:00 P.M. on Thursday and Friday and at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday. OPEN CLASS DEPARTMENTS RULES AND REGULATIONS1. Open class entries are open to anyone who wishes to exhibit at the Osceola County Fair. Entrants are not limited to residents of Osceola County.2. All articles must be the work of one who does not teach or sell these products for a livelihood in their home, shop or store. Entries from professionals will not be accepted. Please be mindful of Copyrighted/Trademark laws.3. ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED FROM 5 P.M. UNTIL 8 P.M. ON TUESDAY, JULY 14, AND 8 A.M. UNTIL 12:00 NOON WEDNESDAY, JUL 15.RELEASE TIME IS BETWEEN 12:00 AND 12:30 P.M. ON SUNDAY JULY 19.. All exhibits MUST be removed at this time. . Premiums will not be paid on exhibits that are removed from the grounds before release time, unless the removal has the consent of the department superintendent and/or the fair secretary.4. A $1.00 entry fee, to be paid in the secretary's office, entitles the exhibitor to enter in all departments. All entry fees are part of the total prize money. 5. Every entry or article must be the work of the exhibitor in all age categories and must have been made, canned or grown since last year's fair, unless otherwise stated. Articles that have been shown or judged in Osceola County previously cannot be entered.6. Soiled or unfinished work will not be accepted or entered for premiums.7. Exhibitors will not be allowed in the display cases.8. An insult to the judges will subject the party making it, subject to expulsion from the grounds and forfeiture of premiums. Superintendents will take special care to instruct all committees under their supervision on the importance and faithful observance of this rule.9. The following rule has been unanimously adopted by the Fair Managers Association: Where there is but one exhibit in a class, only one premium may be awarded. “Where there are only two exhibits in a class, two premiums may be awarded. Where there are three or more exhibits in a class all premiums may be awarded.”10. Open class entries will be given a ribbon placing in each class. A ribbon placing may not be given if the judge feels the exhibit is not worthy of a placing and/or ribbon.11. Exhibitors must not change their exhibits, or any part thereof, after the hour for the exhibit to be in place. A violation of this rule will result in the forfeiture of any and all premiums won in this department.12. ***Junior Exhibitors must be present at time of entry.*****A "BEST OF SHOW" rosette will be awarded to the exhibit in each Department and/or Division, as selected by the judge, to be considered an outstanding exhibit. New corn must be grown this year. The judges are instructed to reject all entries of old corn which show any indication of not having been produced during the previous year. The same sample of corn cannot be exhibited in more than one class.2. Entries in these classes will be limited to one sample in each class from the same farm or individual.3.
