Year 6 Recommended Reading This is not an exhaustive list, just a list of good books. I hope that one or two of them might; create a love of reading, find an author you love or even build up your vocabulary to use in your own writing. Some of them will make you howl with laughter, some may reduce you to tears. There is a real variety here for you to try. All can be borrowed from the library- either straight off the shelf or ordering in for free. Lots of them can be bought online second hand. OnceMorris GleitzmanI found this book very emotional but its well worth the effort. It is the story of the holocaust told through the eyes of a child.Beetle BoyM G LeonardThis book is amazing- All the beetles in the story are real creatures. It is the first of 3 books- I highly recommend this book. M. G Leanord has combined the true-to-life totally phenomenal abilities of beetles with an edge-of-the-seat adventure.Charlottes WebE B WhiteA classic.The Midnight GangDavid WalliamsFunny and sad – A great read.Swallows and AmazonsArthur RansomeA classic, if you can get used to the old fashioned style- well worth it!
