Effective management of environmental issues Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Managing Director as the responsible officer has the overall responsibility to provide a healthy and safe workplace for the Company’s employees and contractors. The Managing Director will provide adequate resources to meet the aims and objectives contained in the occupational health, safety, and welfare policy and any legislative requirements. The Managing Director will ensure that the entire Whyalla Earthworks operation is adequately organised to implement the policy and that all levels of management are given responsibilities necessary to ensure its success.The Managing Director, (or designated personnel within the company), will provide feedback and assessment of all works to both the client & higher authorities as required, as well as regular assessment of the performance of all employees within a given task.The Managing Director will hold all levels of Senior Management accountable by monitoring their performance in Quality, Occupational Health, Safety, Environment and Welfare.Employees and ContractorsEmployees and Contractors have a legal duty to protect their own health, safety and welfare and to avoid adversely affecting the health and safety of any other person.Employees and Contractors have a personal understanding of their own work place and are important to the maintenance of a successful occupational health, safety and welfare program.Employees and Contractors ResponsibilitiesObey any reasonable instruction that Supervisors/Team Leaders give in relation to health and safety whilst at work.Be prepared to assist in event/incident investigation.See that information is given to Supervisors/Team Leaders of any ideas they have on preventing hazards and improving work procedures.Ensure that all employees and contractors comply with our Customers’ Health and Safety rules and regulations.Report accidents and injuries to Supervisors/Team Leaders as soon as possible after the event.
