We will be running some Workshop for Adults on the Spectrum focusing on social and communication skills, friendships and relationships. Participants will learn theoretical and practical skills in these areas and how to apply the skills in their lives. Each workshop will be highly interactive, with visual aids, videos and activities designed to make the topic as interesting and easy to understand as possible. The group is relevant for men and women registered with ASA over the age of 18 years with an Autism Spectrum Disorder with encouraging and accepting group dynamics. These workshops are aimed at a broad spectrum of knowledge, and therefore may start at a level of understanding that everyone can understand, but progresses into more depth with each workshop. Participants will need to be aware that sometimes the topics may be below or above their current level of understanding, but everyone is accommodated for as best can be. The content covered will be the same as previous workshops. For participants who have attended the workshops before, social activities will still be available to encourage opportunities to build stronger social networks.Age Group: 18+ with Asperger’s or Autism Spectrum DisorderGroup Size: 15-20 participantsVenue: Autism SA: 262 Marion Road Netley, Thursday 6:30-8:30pm.
