CLASS RULES & PROCEDURES:

1. When you arrive for health class through the gymnasium you are to proceed into the class room.

2. You are to come into class, sit down quietly and begin working on the bell ringer that will be either posted on the white board or on the SMART board. If one is not posted, you may review your notes from the previous class individually or quietly with other classmates until class begins.

3. Class will begin with roll. Please answer “Here. . .” when called upon.

4. You will be required to bring some type of legible writing utensil to class with you (highlighters, permanent markers, or markers are not acceptable to complete the class’s assignments with). Not having this item will result in a loss of 3 points for missing the item each class it is not brought. If you need to borrow a writing utensil (permitting Mrs. Eggler has a few of them), you will need to provide collateral to use one of them.

5. You will be required to have standard size notebook paper or a standard size notebook with you for class. Not having this item will result in a loss of 3 points for missing the item each class it is not brought.

6. If you need to, please use the restrooms during the first or last (if time permits at the end) 5 minutes of class. If bathroom visits during class become a constant issue teacher will implement a bathroom policy (ex. Only 3 excused bathroom visits per MP).

7. Students are not to engage in horseplay of any kind while in the classroom. A minimum level of noise should be maintained if talking is permitted. Misconduct may result in disciplinary action. Students are to make sure that the books and desks are placed back where they were at the beginning of class before exiting the room when the bell rings.

8. If you are injured, become ill, or experience any type of problem (missing items/bullying) during the course of health class, please report it to Mrs. Eggler IMMEDIATELY!

9. If there is an assignment students are expected to turn in assignments on time.

Late assignments will NOT be accepted and will result in a zero.

You may see Mrs. Lowe about completing an extra credit assignment in place of the assignment, however the assignment will not completely replace the zero. If you are absent on due date, the assignment must be turned in on first day back to school (NOT the first day back to PE class). Planned class trips do NOT count as an absence from class, you still must turn your assignment in that day. It also always an option to email your assignment to Mrs. Eggler as well if you experience technical difficulties:

ceggler@

10. If you would like to complete an extra assignment, you will need to see Mrs. Eggler for the assignment. You will be limited to 10 extra credit assignments. You can NOT complete more than that pending special circumstances.

11. Students are responsible to see teacher after returning to school from an absence to receive instructions for making up assignments or any other work they missed. Make ups must be completed or arranged to be completed no more than 1 week after absent date, unless otherwise designated by Mrs. Eggler. To receive missed work you need to see Mrs. Eggler outside of class time to arrange getting the work. Do NOT ask in class for missed work.

12. Cell phones are not tolerated. Do not bring them to health class. Otherwise if they are brought to class, disciplinary action will then take place.

13. Student compliance is imperative in creating and maintaining an effective and efficient learning environment.  To accomplish this goal a 4 step assertive discipline policy will be implemented. The following actions will carried out for student misconduct, warning, lose 5-10 points for the class, zero for class, write-up/call home. Teacher reserves the right to adapt discipline procedures based on each individual situation. Consistent discipline problems may result in immediate loss of points or write up.
