Access a copy of Schindler’s List. You can access it through OnDemand (I think), Netflix, or online (so I hear). Watch the film, then begin the assignment on the Holocaust EXACTLY as it’s written. The due date will be after the holiday break, but you should have the vast majority of it done by the end of break!

Use the film, valid internet sites and text references as well as your text book to complete the assignment.

The Power of Prejudice and Hate During the Holocaust

The Holocaust refers to the mass murder of European Jews and other “undesirables” by German Nazis from 1933-1945. In 1933, approximately nine million Jews lived in Europe. At the end of the Holocaust, two out of every three European Jews had been murdered. In addition to the six million Jews killed—gypsies, Poles, disabled persons, mentally handicapped, Catholics, homosexuals, Jehovah’s Witnesses, communists and prisoners of war were among those targeted by the Nazis. Prejudice and hate were two of the precipitating factors that led to this horrific event.

As the culminating assignment for the Holocaust unit, you are going to complete this digital portfolio that will follow you throughout your high school career. Once you complete the project, it will be uploaded on to your school web-page where you can access it as an aid for college admission, or simply to see how far you have come in your high school career.
