Syllabus Mr. EygabroadAlgebra 1OverviewWelcome Back! We are going to have a very interesting year, I think we can make it great together! First off, I expect you to succeed, although there is going to be a learning curve with the right amount of effort my class is set up for everyone to have success in. I am here to assist and guide you through the learning of your mathematics. For me, I find the process of finding the answer more important than the answer itself. I ask that you try your best. I will be available for help; however, you are responsible for yourself. You will know what is expected of you and I will do my best to teach you the concepts and relate them to real life. To assist you I will be available for help every day during office hours. Tests/QuizzesYou will have approximately ten tests/quizzes a semester and will know at least one week in advance when the test will be. Always expect a test at the end of a chapter. There will be one full day of review before the test/quiz. On the day of the test I expect you join the zoom on time, a pdf version of the test will be shared with your screen, you will have exactly 30 min to finish the test/quiz. If for some reason you do not finish you can schedule a time during office hours to finish your test on the same day. If you are absent the day of the test you are expected to schedule a time during my office hours to complete the test/quiz. If you are absent the day prior to the test you will be expected to take the test as scheduled. If extended absences occur, we will determine a test day. Retakes will only be allowed with a submitted request for the reason to retake. D. AssignmentsAssignments will be given daily based on the morning lesson that day and assignments will be due by midnight the day after assigned. Please write down any questions you may have with the problem # and post questions onto google classroom for class to discuss. I encourage students to discuss steps and solutions, please just don’t give the answer. You may ask one-on-one questions during office hours. Assignments will be posted on and turned in to google classroom. To receive full credit, you must do two things, 1. Complete every problem 2. Show all your workE. NotebookAll students are responsible for a notebook. Kept in your notebook will be all notes on how to complete problems as well as sample problems. Notebooks will be collected at the end of each quarter for a 100-point notebook grade.Google ClassroomWe will be using google classroom along with the rest of the school to stay organized as a class. All of your zoom links, discussions, assignments, and resources will be posted here. Assignments will be turned in here as well. Assignments will be graded but to see your child’s class grade you will need to go to Skyward, each assignment will match with google classroom and skyward. Parents are encouraged to join the classroom to keep up with their child’s progress.
