National Unity Day observed in CLW
Chittaranjan, 31 October 2016; In order to celebrate the birth day of the first Home Minister of Independence India, Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel, Railway Board/New Delhi, had directed to observe ‘Rastriya Ekta Divas’ (National Unity Day) on 31st October, 2016. In line with it, ‘National Unity Day’ was organised in the administrative office and other offices of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) on 31st October,2016. On this occasion, ’RUN FOR UNITY’ was also organised from the Oval ground to Indoor Stadium, wherein, Shri C.P.Tayal, General Manager along with Shri po, Chief Mechanical Engineer, Shri B.B.Singh, Chief Electrical Engineer, Shri S.Barik, Controller of Stores, Shri Ashok Kumar, Chief Vigilance Officer, Shri G. Sreenivasa Rao, Chief Personnel Officer, Dr.A. Majumdar, Chief Medical Officer, Shri B.R.Kanwar, Chief Engineer and other Sr. Officers, sports persons, employees and members of CLW Sports Association took part.
Later, Shri C.P.Tayal, General Manager read out the ‘Rastriya Ekta Divas Shapath’ (National Unity Day pledge) in presence of Sr.Officers, employees in the administrative office.
‘National Unity’ Day was also observed in different office premises of CLW namely, Works Office, Steel Foundry, K.G.Hospital and CLW’s Dankuni Unit premises ,wherein National Unity Day pledge was read out.
Later, a ceremonial parade including March Past was organised by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) wing of CLW in the Arms Wing ground to mark the ‘Rastriya Ekta Divas’ (National Unity Day).
