Greetings from the Host Pastor
Greetings,
Welcome Congress of Christian Education to the city of Lakeland and to our great Church, New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
We are indeed grateful for the opportunity of hosting such a fine group and viable component of the Progressive Missionary and Education Convention of Florida in this 35th Annual Session.
The Bible teaches us in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.” We congratulate you on the work you are doing for the advancement of our great convention.
Again, I welcome this outstanding composition of Christian experts and specialist. Let us keep “The Church…Foundationally Strong.”

The President Speaks…
Greetings, Progressive Missionary and Educational Baptist State Convention Constituency! I greet you in the mighty name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the one who continues to do all things well!
God has once again showered us with His bountiful blessings and I am forever grateful for His guidance and directions for our convention and for our lives. In March He allowed us to convene the 98th Annual Session in the city of Panama where we had one of the most blessed sessions. I applaud reverend Leon Jones, his church family, New Hope, and the District Association for the awesome job they did in hosting our session. We were blessed spiritually, financially, and numerically.
Now, once again we have gathered in the city of Lakeland for our 35th Annual Session Congress of Christian Education where we are anticipating another blessed session. I want to express my appreciation to Reverend Dr. J. Downing and the congregation at Jerusalem for undertaking the challenge to host this session of our Congress.
We are blessed this year to be able to convene at our State Headquarters facility. I wish to express my gratitude to Reverend H. G. McCullough and his staff, along with Reverend E. Bland, Sister E. Rosier and their staff, who have worked tirelessly to provide a curriculum second to non for our delegates this week. Our goal is to provide an educational environment for Progress that will promote individual spiritual growth, as well as equip our attendees to assist in growth and equipping of others in their local churches.
Today, I welcome not only our delegates, but to visiting guests and friends who will be sharing with us this week. It is my prayer that each of you will continue to support us in all of our endeavors, and that your week in Lakeland will be both rewarding and production.
Have a blessed week and a safe trip home.

Reverend Dr. H. G. McCollough
Congress Director
Greetings, my brothers and sisters in Christ:
Welcome to the 35th annual session of the Congress of Christian Education and Youth and Children’s Convention. I want to thank all of my Congress staff and President Banks for their support, and all of my fellow laborers who toiled so faithfully to ensure spiritual growth through Christian education. It is my most sincere wish that this gathering will provide fellowship and spiritual enrichment to all who attend.
It is by the grace of God that we are here, and by His grace that we are holding steadfast in our faith. Let us continue to give our best in prayers and service to God and work for the up building of His kingdom.
Again, allow me to remind you brothers and sisters that I envision this Congress as being the educational cornerstone that provides the tools necessary to meet the many challenges that modern day Christians face.
Finally, let us develop a sense of loyalty and a willingness to give of ourselves, and to reach out and touch the lives of others. I look forward to greater congress participation in the future. I pray God’s blessings upon each of you. May this week be of great inspiration to you.
Yours in Christ,
