Adams Morgan - Washington's Greenwich Village, this multicultural neighborhood is at the intersection of 18th Street and Columbia Road, packed with restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and bookstores. There are a number of moderately priced apartments and group living situations. The demand for housing is very high and affordable locations are hard to find. Approximately 2 miles from main campus. Burleith - Located just north of campus, Burleith combines the charm of Georgetown with slightly less expensive housing. Within walking distance, this neighborhood is popular for students living in townhouses.

Capitol Hill - Highly popular with young professionals and Capitol Hill staff, this area is also attractive for law students. Just a short walk from government offices, galleries, shops and museums. Area housing options include 18th and 19th row houses, modern condominiums, and older apartment buildings. Approximately 4.5 miles from the main campus and 1 mile from the Law Center. Transportation: Georgetown University Shuttle, Metrorail (blue and orange line), Metrobus (Pennsylvania Avenue Line 32, 36).

Cleveland Park/Woodley Park - This is a quiet area with many single-family homes, which rent basement apartments to students. Some homes are rented to groups and there are also many large apartment buildings along Connecticut Avenue. The National Zoo and National Cathedral are nearby, and the neighborhood is convenient to shopping. Approximately 2.2 miles from main campus. Transportation: Georgetown University Shuttle- Dupont Circle, Metrorail (red line), Metrobus (Connecticut Avenue Line L1, 2, 4).

Foggy Bottom - Located between the White House and Georgetown, the neighborhood is a mixture of residences, office buildings, restaurants, and hotels. It is also the home to George Washington University and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Approximately 1.5 miles from main campus. Transportation: Metrorail (blue and orange line), Metrobus (Connecticut Avenue Line L1 from Dupont Circle).

Foxhall - This residential community is located northwest of the University. It is expensive but has some housing available to students. Approximately .4 miles from main campus.

Georgetown (West) - The neighborhood to the east of campus and directly outside the front gates of the University is quite desirable and convenient. It is also one of the most prestigious and sought-after addresses in the city, therefore, rents are high and the competition is intense. Because of its proximity to the University, the Georgetown neighborhood has a large student population.

Palisades - The Palisades area is located in Northwest DC along the Potomac River between Key Bridge and Chain Bridge. MacArthur Boulevard is the main thoroughfare lined with apartments, townhouses and single-family homes. Convenient to a variety of popular restaurants, stores, and services. Approximately 1-2 miles from main campus.

Arlington - The area is a mix of high-rise condominiums, apartment buildings, and turn-of-the-century-homes as well as, nationally known retailers, small boutiques, and numerous restaurants. Bethesda, Maryland - Just over the northwest district line, parts of Bethesda are convenient to Georgetown. Rental apartments in high-rise buildings and some houses and townhouses are available. Rents tend to be high.

Takoma Park/Silver Spring, Maryland - This close-in Maryland area is on a direct subway line to Dupont Circle, from which there is both GUTS and Metrobus service to Georgetown. Takoma Park in particular has many group houses and is popular with young people. Rents are reasonable.
