To Whom It May Concern:

Last year, board members from numerous Ukrainian Student Clubs at Universities across the country came together for what was to become the first general meeting of a newly found SUSTA, a national Ukrainian Student Group. Since that initial meeting last April, we have worked diligently to put together an organization that will outlive our time as students at our respective universities.

As many of you know, SUSTA was an organization in the 60s and 70s that served as the umbrella organization of Ukrainian Clubs in America, similar to SUSK in Canada. Since that time, the organization fell apart and little if anything can be found about it. We have taken the initiative to give Ukrainian students the same opportunities that were given to our parents when they had SUSTA.

This April, we are planning to hold a national conference consisting of a wide variety lectures, films and panel discussions relating to contemporary Ukrainian issues and the role of Ukrainian students. Along with the conference we will be holding a panel of SUSTA leaders in order to have elections for the next governing board and to further expand the organization. This event will be open to all Ukrainians wishing to attend; however, University students will get first priority seating.

We would like to ask you to spread the word about this conference to your local communities and churches. We would like to reach as many people as possible and make as many people aware of this conference as possible. This organization depends on all of you.

In this packet you will find a registration form and some useful information about New Brunswick/Piscataway, New Jersey, which may aid you in your travels and accommodations. We are also including a tentative agenda so you can get a fair understanding of what will happen during the conference. Please review the registration packet and agenda carefully. The registration form will be due 3/31/07. If you know of any other clubs or organizations wishing to participate please have them contact us via email at rusc@eden.rutgers.edu or ask them to visit our website at ukrainians.rutgers.edu. If you have any questions, clarification issues or any concerns, please feel free to email us.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

SUSTA and the Rutgers Ukrainian Students Club

PS. On the next page is a flier that can be handed out to others to spread word about this event.
