 PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING COLLEGE RECOMMENDATION LETTERSALL DOCUMENTS IN THE GREEN DIGITAL FOLDER MUST BE RETURNED TO THE COUNSELING OFFICEBY NOVEMBER 2, 2020 List all private colleges you are applying to on the front of your folder. Research and list all deadlines for your applications. If you have an early decision/early action deadline for a college you must notify your counselor as soon as possible because the deadline listed in Common App may not be accurate.For most private colleges, you must complete the Common Application () online or your college(s) application website. Follow the guidelines to invite “school officials” to write a letter of recommendation for you – your counselor and two teachers. Your counselor will also complete and submit your school report for each private college online. Provide your Common Application Identification number on the front cover page of the green folder or any other ID number required by your college’s online application process.Thoroughly complete the Senior Information Sheet, also known as your Brag Sheet (also available on our website, Counselor’s Corner, Student Information Sheet). Give as much detail as you can! The more information you provide, the more counselors can include in your recommendation letter. You can add additional pages if necessary. Do not give your Brag Sheet to your teachers who will be writing recommendations for you. The Brag Sheet is only for your counselors’ use.Ask a teacher to complete the evaluation form based on their observation of you in the classroom, not based on your Student Information Form. Give them plenty of time to complete the form – do this the week you receive your digital Green Folder. They will not return the form to you. They will return the completed form to your counselor or Mrs. Bondy. (Be sure to provide your teacher name(s) and date given on the green folder cover sheet)!Ask a friend or employer to complete the evaluation form and return it to you, Mrs. Bondy or your Counselor. Give them plenty of time to complete the form – do this the week you receive your Green Folder. Official Transcript(s) are to be ordered from our website, , Online store (under Site Shortcuts). Transcripts are $3.00 each. Request and pay for an official transcript only for the private colleges you are applying to no later than 11/2/20. Do Not order transcripts for Cal States/UC’s until they request them.NOTE: If you make ANY changes to your college list after turning in your Green Folder, you MUST NOTIFY YOUR COUNSELOR ASAP.
