BTT1OName: _____________________Due Date: ______________________Assignment: WORDLE in Adobe IllustratorA chance to manipulate text.A wordle is referred to as a “word cloud” composed of words that refer to a common theme or topic.Open Adobe Illustrator and create a new letter-sized document (can be portrait or landscape orientation).Using an Internet browsing program (Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.), search for a graphic that goes along with your wordle theme. You will be building your wordle over top of this image. It can be a solid image or simply an outline, like a colouring book-type image.Save the full-sized image that you have found, to the desktop.Make a new layer in Adobe Illustrator and make sure it is highlighted for the next step.Drag the image into Illustrator and notice how it has been added to the layer you just created, “Layer 2”.At the top of the Illustrator screen, notice the word Opacity. With Layer 2 and your imported image still highlighted, click beside “100” and notice that you get a slider bar. The opacity refers to the amount of light that is allowed to pass through your image. At 100%, the image will be at its darkest. Slide the bar to values lower than 100% and see that the image is lightened. Lighten your image to a point that you can still see it, yet will not be annoying to build your wordle on it.Switch to Layer 1 by clicking on it, and highlighting it, on the Layers Panel. You are now ready to build your wordle.Text Tools you will be using include:Type ToolType on a Path Tool(as demonstrated by Mr. Weigand, in class)Other tools that will come in handy for creating text-based shapes include:Pencil Tool, Shapes, Line Segment ToolIn case your lines have a stroke (appear in solid colour), you will need to change the Stroke to Transparent at the top left of the screen. To change how your text appears, relative to the lines you have drawn, click on the pull-down menu at the top - Type | Type on a Path | Type on a Path Options, click Preview, and choose the orientation that best suits your needs.Ideally, you will outline a shape with text and then fill it with words that are related to your theme or concept.Save your work in progress and finished work as an Adobe Illustrator file (____. ai). When ready to turn in your work for grading, delete the background layer. Click on File | Save As | and choose Adobe pdf as the format on one of the pull-down options.Save file as your name_wordle.pdf. Example: Taylor_wordle.pdfAs always, ask questions of your neighbours, or Mr. Weigand, if you need assistance. ................
