How do you like to express your feelings, thoughts and ideas?

• Perhaps you like to paint a picture or sing along to a favourite song?

• Maybe you love to dance, dress up and put on a show or play a musical instrument.

• You might be someone who likes to design and build.  Are you a Lego master       or a Minecraft expert?  Or do you like to use a particular app for designing       and creating?

Our school motto is Friendship - Discovery - Prayer.

• What does our school motto mean to you?

• This week, we would like you to come up with a way of expressing your feelings, ideas or thoughts about our school motto (or one of the words in it).

Create a piece of expressive artwork...

• You can express your ideas anyway you like (through a drawing, a photo, a video/audio recording or a screenshot, etc.)  Be as creative as you like and, of course, don’t forget to use your imagination!

• Please make sure you have sent your piece of expressive artwork (that’s the  drawing or photo or recording you decide to make) to your class teacher by Friday 12th June.

We will be sharing some examples from each class so that we can find out what Friendship-Discovery-Prayer means to everyone right across our school!

We have included some ideas and suggestions below to get you started - feel free to use one of these or come up with an idea of your own.

Have fun and we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Miss Cronin, Mrs Bibby & Mrs Rainey (ICT, Art & Design and Music coordinators respectively).

Ideas and Suggestions…

Stone Installation:

We would love everyone in the school to paint a stone! You can choose what you would like to paint on the stone - the rainbow for our NHS, our school badge, a cross,  an animal you love, your name, a pattern - what-ever you wish. Once painted, take a photo of it to send to your teacher and then drop the stone off along the front fence at our school - underneath the school sign - let’s see if we can make our very own school stone installation - we might not all be together at this time but if we all place a stone outside our school it will be a way of joining together in our friendship from afar.

Music Zoom:

Key Stage Two - this is a very  cool project if you can organise it. We really hope you can as we cannot wait to see the results!! If you have a favourite song that you all know as a class, can you make a zoom video all singing/ playing various parts of the song?  See these two examples from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow below.  Get talking to each other - choose a song- practise on your own  - schedule a zoom call - sing/ play it with your friends -  video it and send it into school!

Friendship hand photos:

We can’t hold hands or hug our friends at the moment. Our school badge shows holding hands - friendship, love and support. Are you a good photographer? Take a picture of holding hands in your family - if you can,  a picture of everyone in your house holding hands. This is a tricky time for all of us. Be there for each other in your household - however trying it is at times!

Send your holding hands pictures into school. We can make some great displays for September or even put them on our school website.

Friendship bracelets:

We are all missing seeing our friends at the moment.  Why not teach yourself how to make a friendship bracelet and then send it to a friend to let them know you haven’t forgotten them.  Don’t forget to send a photo of the bracelet to your teacher.

Discovery Bottles & Boxes:

Create a soothing, calming discovery bottle full of beautiful colours and textures or put together a discovery box filled with items that hold special meaning or memories for you.  Share these with the people in your family.

Prayer Board:

Create a prayer board for your family and fill it with prayers of hope, love and gratitude.

Get Composing:

If you’re in KS2, why not check out the online music lessons at MTech:

You might also like to create your own beatbox composition at - don’t forget to save it and send the link to your teacher.

Or you might like to try out singing like an opera singer!

If you play a musical instrument, why not record yourself playing something you are currently practising - we would love to hear it!

You could even have a go at designing, building and playing your very own musical instrument…
