The College Application ProcessIt is strongly recommended that Seniors interested in attending a four-year university, apply to prospective colleges EARLY with a “complete application”. Students will still have the opportunity to retest (ACT/SAT) if necessary, and applying early allows for any merit institutional scholarship opportunities that are offered through the Admissions Office.NO decision can be made with an incomplete application! What’s a complete application? 1. On-Line College Application – Find application at the university website under Undergraduate or Freshman Admissions. You may have a choice to use an 1) Institutional Application, 2) The Common Application or 3) The Coalition. ONLY use ONE online application for the institution of interest. Having a resume and your high school record (Virtual Counselor/Graduation Information) will help in the process of completing the fields of the application. Many colleges have a very simple application, even without an essay, however if an essay is “recommended”, take the time to write it. 2. Pay the Application Fee or use College Application Fee Waiver (In your College Board Account) if you took the SAT on a Test Fee Waiver. 3. Send your SAT and/or ACT Test Scores OFFICIALLY from your College Board and/or ACT Account. Since many colleges “Superscore”, it’s to your advantage to send all scores. To “Superscore” is where sub-sections of a test from different dates are used. CCHS is not allowed to send your scores. 4. Send a Transcript OR complete SSAR (Self-Reported Transcript): To order your High School Transcript, make the request via Naviance Student and CSCS will either submit it or upload it to your Common Application. Go to: student.coralscsa – ADD (+) schools to the COLLEGES I’M APPLYING TO b – REQUEST TRANSCIPTS – Initial c- Manage your Transcript Request – For questions, see Ms. Pepe or Mrs. Monti in guidance for more information or if you need an official HARD COPY of your High School Transcript. Do not assume because you THINK you sent everything to a college that the college has received everything and your application is complete. Check your application status online to confirm your application is complete and view your admission status. Check your emails too!More questions? Make an appointment with Ms. Pepe in the guidance office ................
