Job Title: Human Resource Intern

Reports To: Human Resource Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Cheyenne, WY

Prepared By/Date: Human Resources 3/14/13

Approved By/Date: HR Manager 03/15/13

Summary: Under direct supervision, assists department carry out various human resources programs and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Receive recruitment requests and prepare job descriptions for review and approval.

Recruit for open positions using a variety of online and print sources to ensure compliance with EEO and Affirmative Action requirements.

Maintain the applicant flow log using an applicant tracking system.

Process benefit enrollment forms.

Assist with processing hire and term paperwork for employees.

Performs data entry functions for various HR data bases.

Prepares and updates new hire packets.

Assist with preparation of government required reporting and various surveys.

Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Education/Experience:

Enrolled in a Business or Human Resource Management degree program.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Math Ability:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing and Spreadsheet software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
