• Our daily schedule is managed in such a fashion that the children feel comfortable and at home the entire day.

ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Before a child begins attending Roadsters Daycare, I require a personal interview with the parent/guardian in order to familiarize myself with the child including his/her likes, dislikes, routines, response to discipline, etc. Communication is essential in developing a relationship with the parent. It is also essential to utilize all means of communication in providing daily reviews of your child’s behavior while they are enrolled in the daycare. You will be provided with verbal updates at pick-up time and written notices as needed concerning your child’s behavior. You are encouraged to contact Pastor Philip Stotts or myself with any questions, comments or concerns as well. Philip will be acting as my assistant if I am unable to provide daycare services. In the event that myself and/or Philip is unable to provide care an approved individual carefully selected by Roadsters staff will also be providing services to your child.

During the interview, you will be provided with several documents that will be required before the admission of your child to daycare. The forms differ depending upon the age of your child. Select forms are completed on an as needed basis. All forms are listed below:

• Enrollment Form

• Verification of Immunizations

• Medication Authorization

• Permission for Child to Leave Facility

• Medical Examination Report

• Evidence of Blood Lead Testing

• Parent’s Health Statement for School-Aged Child

• Notice of Parental Responsibility

• Individual Plan for Specialized Care

• Report of Accident, Injury and/or Emergency Medical Care

*We will let you know when your child’s supply is running low*

You will need to specify your child’s days and hours of attendance. If your child will be attending on an irregular basis, you will need to call in advance due to our license limiting the total number of children in the daycare. The daycare must be notified in advance of any changes in days or hours of attendance. We ask that you notify us by 8:00am if your child will be unable to attend daycare for any reason.

FEES

Infant - $125/week

Non potty-trained child - $110/week

Potty-trained child - $100/week

Fees are due by Monday of each week. Unpaid fees are subject to immediate suspension or termination of care unless reasonable arrangements are made and accepted by both parties.

Parents who qualify for daycare subsidy must have full approval in place prior to child’s attendance. Any fees not covered by subsidy are the parents’ responsibility and are payable at the beginning of the week. Proof of qualification must be presented to daycare prior to enrollment.

Fees are based on booked days not attendance. Refunds and credits will not be given for days when your child does not attend. Extenuating circumstances will be considered. Fees will not apply if we are provided with ample notification of family vacations.

A fee of $30 will be charged for all returned checks. Upon a second occurrence of a returned check, all subsequent payments must be made in cash.

ARRIVAL/PICK UP

Please do not allow your child to come into the daycare unattended. In order for us to provide the best care possible, we ask that upon the child’s arrival you communicate any event or activity from the day or night before that may affect your child’s behavior.

Please notify the daycare if an unauthorized person will be picking up your child. Verbal or written permission must be received before we will release a child to anyone who is not authorized on the enrollment form.

A fee of $5 will be charged if your child is dropped off 15 minutes before the daycare opens or 15 minutes after the daycare closes. A $2 fee will be charged every 5 minutes thereafter.

ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES

We appreciate the trust you have shown by placing your child into our care. While we may feel very comfortable with dealing with what we consider to be “minor” injuries, we understand that for parents there is a wide array of what one considers minor. The rules set forth by the regulatory agency require that parents be contacted immediately for all accidents and injuries. As a parent, you have the right and the ultimate responsibility to decide what action you want taken when your child is injured. Ultimately, contacting parents for each and every accident/injury is in the best interest of the child. It also prepares you before you arrive at the daycare to expect to observe an injury on your child and know what occurred to cause the injury.

If your child is injured while at daycare, you will be notified immediately. We will then proceed to follow your written directions if emergency medical care is needed. The date and description of the accident/injury will be documented in your child’s daycare record.

ILLNESS POLICY

Parents agree to keep their child/children at home or seek alternate care arrangements for the following conditions:

• Fever - 100ºF or higher

• Sore throat or trouble swallowing

• Headache or stiff neck

• Unexplained diarrhea or loose stool combined with nausea, vomiting or abdominal cramping. The child will be kept at home until all symptoms have stopped.

• Nausea or vomiting

• Eye infection

• Rash

• Discharge from eyes or ears

• Colored discharge from nose

• Lice or nits

• Severe itching of body and scalp

• Known or suspected communicable diseases

A child who is brought to daycare with any of these conditions or symptoms cannot be admitted and must be taken home by the parent. If any of these symptoms develop after a child has been admitted to the daycare, the parent will be contacted and informed of their child’s symptoms and will need to make arrangements to take the child home. Children who are no longer contagious and are healthy enough to actively participate in activities may return. This policy is for the health and well-being of all children at the daycare and enables us to provide the best possible environment for your child. Please call and let us know if your child will be unable to attend on a given day by 8:00am. You are expected to pay for your child when he/she is ill. In the event that I am ill, Philip Stotts and/or an approved individual carefully selected by Roadsters daycare staff will provide daycare services.

MEDICATION

This day care reserves the right to refuse to administer medication to a child at any time.

The daycare will not furnish any type of over-the-counter medications for children. The legal guardian or parent must bring in the child's medication with the proper identification labels on the medication and it will only be used for the designated child.

DISCIPLINE POLICY

The staff at Roadsters Daycare will always try redirection and praise on a child to try to solve a behavioral problem before it begins. Consistent redirection, teaching how to make good choices, understanding the natural consequences when we are not making good choices, and talking with the child will be applied first and foremost when behavioral issues arise. If these tactics are unsuccessful, then time-out will be administered according to the child’s age and will usually run 1 minute per age of the child. No child will ever be in time-out for more than five minutes. On the rare occasion when a child loses control and could possible injure him/herself or others, we may be required to hold the child to soothe them until self-control is gained. Although our center does not disagree with spanking, we agree that staff should not administer corporal punishment. We ask that if you must spank your child, you do so behind closed doors and out of sight of other children.

In the rare event that all other methods of discipline have been exhausted, or the child is a danger to him/herself or anyone else, you will be contacted and may be asked to come to the center to discipline your child. In severe cases, you may be required to pick them up for the day. If the problem persists, you may be asked to find alternate care for your child.

TERMINATION/WITHDRAWAL

Roadsters Daycare reserves the right to suspend or terminate care of any child without notice, should it be deemed necessary for the overall safety and well-being of staff and/or other children in daycare.

Parents must provide a minimum notice of two weeks for permanent withdrawal from daycare. If ample notice is not given, a full week’s payment must be given in lieu of.

CHILD ABUSE/NEGLECT

Missouri State Statutes require that all licensed childcare providers report all incidents of suspected or actual abuse or neglect of children regardless of whether they occur in, or are related to the facility. This facility is therefore obligated by law to report such incidents.
