COVID-19: Clinical Update from Sylvain TrepanierMarch 4, 2020Take three deep breaths. It is imperative that we conserve our personal protection equipment (masks, gowns, gloves) for those who really need it. To increase our conservation efforts, we are moving to a centralized strategy across all of our organizations. Our approach to conserve supplies while safeguarding our health care workers include (see attached guidelines):?Implementing an extended use and reuse of supplies such as N95 masks, CAPR face shields and PAPR hoods as recommended by the?Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.?Storing and consolidating masks supplies in a single location and having a central distribution process to allocate PPE when needed.??Limiting entrance and exits of isolation rooms (bundling activities when clinical appropriate so we can do multiple patient care activities in a single room visit)Don’t let people who are not supposed to be going into the room enter (students and vendors should not be allowed to enter isolation rooms)Attached is an HR FAQ (labeled HR_COVID-19_FAQ). A Chat BOT will be released this week to help those who are searching for information on Covid19 on google. The Chat box will help searcher on where to go next pending their question.
