IMPORTANT SERVICE NOTIFICATIONMarch 27, 2014Dear Valued Client,Effective October 1, 2014 CMS guidelines require a transition from the ICD-9 code set to the new ICD-10 code set when reporting medical diagnoses and inpatient procedures. Due to this transition you will notice some new ordering procedures when placing standing orders. Effective April 1, 2014, as a temporary measure, when a standing order is placed via eMEDLAB, phone or paper requisition, it will prohibit the creator from entering an end date past September 30, 2014. We are in the beginning stages of this transition and as we update our system we will be in contact regarding when and how to update your standing orders with end dates after September 30, 2014 with the new ICD-10 code set.The transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 is an industry requirement and one that will require tremendous teamwork between our staffs. For more information regarding industry implementation or timelines please visit medicare/coding/icd10. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this transition please contact your account manager.Thank you for your support,Jay BraunVice PresidentMEDLAB ................
