It is encouraged to enter the fair in either the 4-H department or as a FFA member. Qualifications are: graduating senior, minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher, participate in the fair in 4-H or FFA, attend a school within the 16 county fair district (Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Bonneville, Butte, Caribou, Clark, Custer, Franklin, Fremont, Jefferson, Lemhi, Madison, Oneida, Power, and Teton).
