Prior to the game, they were cheering for their team during warm ups and when there was technical difficulties with the national anthem, this student section stepped up and sang the national anthem, getting a majority of the gym to join in before finishing. During the game, the student section cheered properly, supporting their team without any negative comments to the officials or anything at all said to the opposing team. They kept their energy going even with their team down in the fourth quarter. Student sections cheering like this, in the right way, make the games fun to officiate! We have been so proud of our student sections this year! We love seeing our kids support one another!Poetry Published: Congratulations to Mikayla Rees for being selected to have her poem published in National Scholar Society’s Anthology. This is such a prestigious honor as thousands of students send in their work while only 35% are chosen for publication. The excitement was in the air and in the stands, as the CAM Middle School fan section was at the top of their game, cheering on the Lady Raiders. The Raiders struggled offensively in the first quarter, only scoring 2 points, both from free throws. The Bruins, on the other hand, did not struggle. They were on fire and put up 15 points to put the Raiders down by 13. Second quarter was a little better for the Raiders, scoring 9 but the Bruins hit 6 more outside shots to take a 27-11 lead into the locker room at half. Making some adjustments at the half was what it was going to take for the Lady Raiders to make a comeback. Playing great defense in the 3rd got us going and helped us outscore the Bruins by 2, keeping us within reach. During the 4th quarter our Raiders played their hearts out, but just could not overcome that first half drought. Final score was the Bruins 48 and the Lady Raiders 33. The season ends with a record of 23 wins and 2 losses. It was definitely a great season for these girls and as a coach I couldn't be any more proud of their efforts.
