MaddenExecutive Director?To:???????????All Physicians in IndianaFrom:???????Virgil Madden, Executive Director, Indiana Professional Licensing AgencySubject:????Medical Physicians and Osteopathic Physicians Renewal CycleDate:????????March 28, 2013??In an effort to increase agency efficiency, the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA), with the approval of the Medical Licensing Board (MLB) under IC 25-1-5-4(k), has extended the current physician renewal deadline from June 30, 2013 to October 31, 2013.?As a result, your current physician license and controlled substance registration (CSR) will now expire on October 31, 2013.?You do not need to take any action at this time. You will receive a subsequent notice reminding you of the new renewal deadline of October 31, 2013. Due to this change, you will not be able to renew your license or CSR until August 20, 2013.?Extending the physician renewal deadline will allow staff to provide greater support to new graduates and, ultimately, to physicians during their new renewal cycle.?An email notification will be sent to all physicians when this year’s renewal cycle is opened on August 20, 2013.?This change in renewal cycles will be a permanent move of the expiration date for physician licenses, and all physicians will need to renew their licenses and CSRs between September 1st and October 31st of odd numbered years, hereafter.?Temporary medical permits (residency & fellowship) are not affected by this change and will continue to expire every year on June 30th.?If you are a military physician and have already renewed, your license will be current until October 31, 2015.?If you have any questions, please call (317) 234-2060 or email pla3@PLA.. ?This email was sent by: Indiana Professional Licensing Agency402?West Washington Street, Rm.
