Continuing Education Requirements

The chiropractic board will be enforcing the continuing education requirement that states each licensee must complete twelve (12) hours of continuing education each year which include four (4) hours of risk management. For example, July 2, 2012 through July 1, 2013 is the first year of the two (2) year renewal period. The second year would be July 2, 2013 through July 1, 2014.

Below is the statute concerning this matter. Going forward this statute will be enforced. Each licensee chosen for the 2014 random audit of continuing education must have at least 12 hours of con-

tinuing education each year with 4 hours in risk management that totals to a minimum of 24 hours of continuing education. If the licensee is unable to provide proof meeting the requirement, he or she will be found noncompliant and will face a civil penalty and be required to make up the lacking continuing education hours.

The Indiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners statutes and rules can be found at pla/chiro.htm. If there are any questions concerning this matter, please email us at pla8@pla. or call (317)234-

Hardcopy of Chiropractic License

We receive many inquiries from our professionals asking when to expect new license cards or wall certificates in the mail. IPLA no longer sends these when a license is issued or renewed.

Instead, licensees may visit pla. and order hard copies of a 5"x7" wall certificate with the license card attached, printed on blue marble cardstock for a fee of $13.77. Individuals also have the option to obtain a free online license printout that can be printed on any paper or cardstock. For detailed instructions to navigate this process, visit the Indiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners home page at pla/chiro.htm and click on "Instructions to Obtain License Card".

If you wish to have the large, ornate certificate with calligraphy and the state seal, please visit

to order. You choose the size and design and may also order a frame to fit any certificate purchased from this site.
