RECOGNITION: Kennedy Rhodes and Elizabeth Westfall — members of our school’s Family, Career and Community Leaders of America — attended the National Leadership Conference?July 3-7?in San Diego. Each competed in STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events.? Rhodes earned the gold medal and placed second in the Central Region in the Chapter Website event. She created a website for the Southern Wells FCCLA chapter, and also represented Indiana as the state vice president of public relations; she’ll hold that office for the 2016-17 school year.?Westfall earned her medal in the Illustrated Talk Event, presenting a project that reported on her work in teaching nutrition and MyPlate standards in the community. In addition to the competitions, both students attended leadership workshops. Both students are exceptional students who represent our Raider expectations of an outstanding student.FCCLA is a national career and technical student organization for family and consumer sciences students. As such, those employees may not be covered by another public retirement or pension plan as well.?
