A. Introduction

1. Attention Grabber: 78% of Americans would hate to be up here, and I am one of them. But, maybe’s there’s more to me than the nervous girl you see right now.

2. Orienting Material: (background info.) My name is Carley Moore. I am 12 years old, and in the 7th grade at Malcom Bridge Middle School. I was born in Lawton, Oklahoma, but have lived in Georgia for the majority of my life. My family consist of 6 people(including me). My mom, Cheryl, my dad, Mark, my oldest sister, Ansley, my other sister, Kerrigan, and my brother, Dillon.

(Transition) Now that you know some of my background, here’s some more things that can represent me.

B. Body

Softball/basketball: First of all, my life started with sports. I’ve been playing softball for since I was 4. I love to be on the field, doing what I love. But, it was kind of hard to learn, because I am left-handed. No one who taught me was left-handed. So, most of the time, I had to learn some things on my own. But, after all the sweat, blood, and tears, I have become a softball player. I love the sport, and I would have to call it my favorite sport! Now that you know about my life with softball, I’ll move on to basketball. I have been playing basketball for 3 years now. I love working as a team and being on the court. I have recently played for the MBMS girls’ basketball team. As you can see, I love sports and being active.

(Transition)-So, sports play a big part in my life, but, I still wonder if sports will influence my life in the future, as much as they do now. But, what are my future plans anyway?

Future plans: I plan to go to North Oconee High School, and try-out for the softball and basketball teams. After high school, I want to either go to UGA, or Georgia College and State University. I want to major in early childhood education. I want to be either a kindergarten or 1st grade teacher.

(Transition)- Now that, you know what I plan to do in the future, I am going to tell you a big part of my life. A part that influence every decision that I make, my relationship with God.

My Christian life: Ever since I was 6, I have been a devoted follower of Christ. So, I accepted Christ when I was 6. I thought being a Christian, it would make life easier, but I have figured out, that it is not. People are going to judge you for what you believe, but you have to learn to know that when everything is over, you will be with the king of kings. But,

Even though it has been hard, I have surrounded myself with Christ-loving people, and that creates a great atmosphere for me.

One-three major points

(Transition)- Now that you know all this stuff about me, I guess this is the end.

C. Conclusion

1. Signal the End- Today, I have told you about my sports life, my future plans, and my religion. Now, maybe you know that there is more to me than what meets the eye.

2. Wrap up with a satisfying “kicker”-
